CocoCaramel was born from founder Helen's passion for patisserie, chocolate making, and her love for Aberdeenshire's local produce. From Helen's humble beginnings selling cakes at local farmers' markets, CocoCaramel is now an award-winning chocolatier. Still made in Helen's home kitchen in Inverurie, CocoCaramel's roots remain firmly in Aberdeenshire, where she hosts tasting events, runs workshops for local schoolchildren and collaborates with regional small businesses. Thanks to CocoCaramel's success, Helen's award-winning creations are now sold in select independent retailers across the UK.

THE STORY, UNTIL NOW...

NOV 2016

I'm made redundant in the oil industry downturn of 2016, so set up a cakes and bakes business and sell my cakes, patisserie and jams at the Inverurie & Huntly farmers’ markets

MARCH 2022

A chocolate caramel course in March 2022 totally opens my eyes (and taste buds!) to the amazing flavours and styles of caramels.

JUNE 2022

I attend few chocolate courses, and a two day masterclass., finding a passion for combining caramels with chocolate some of my favourite local produce.

NOV 2022

COCOCARAMEL is born! I launch with 3 different chocolate caramel collections; The Wee Dram, The Perfect Tonic, A Taste of Doric.

JUNE 2023

COCOCARAMEL wins Best New Product for an Emerging Business at the North East Scotland Food and Drink Awards!

SEPT 2023

I launch the 4th caramel collection- The Bees Knees

MAY 2024

COCOCARAMEL is Highly Commended for Best New Business at the North East Scotland Food and Drink Awards

JULY 2024

COCOCARAMEL recieves TWO Great Taste Awards for our Muscovado and Smoked Sea Salt Caramel and our Blossom honey caramel,

DEC 2024

COCOCARAMEL receives a Bronze Award from the Academy of Chocolate, for our Glen Garioch Whisky Caramel
